Enjoy live acoustic music including traditional Appalachian, Bluegrass, Blues and Jazz music every Thursday from 6:00pm - Dusk during the months of May through September alongside the Toccoa River at Ron Henry-Horseshoe Bend River Park in McCaysville, Georgia. Pickin' In The Park® is a series of weekly jam sessions that nurture local acoustic music. Bring your instruments and participate in these weekly jam sessions along the river... or come listen, grill-out and dance!

This weekly event is for pickers, not scheduled performances. Jam sessions abound in various sizes and styles throughout the park. It allows listeners the opportunity to stroll from session to session and enjoy a wide variety of music and it gives musicians a chance to meet and make music with other pickers.

Description of Location: Bring your acoustic instrument, a picnic supper, and a lawn chair and settle in for an evening of family entertainment. If you can play, sing or holler or just love to listen to bluegrass, gospel, folk or country music, you’re invited to join the fun. The weekly all acoustic Jam Session takes place in Dowdy Park. There are no scheduled performers, pickers will be scattered throughout the park beginning at 6 p.m. every Thursday night – rain or shine.

Other attractions located in the park are the historic Couey House and the Summerville Railroad Turntable.

Description of Location: Come on down to Historical Old Town's Parks and enjoy the FREE music jamming sessions each and every week of Pickers at the first annual Pickin' in the Park at Burchard Park and the Brenke Fish Ladder to Turner Park. Musicians, bring your instruments and play in the various music sessions taking place throughout the parks. This is your weekly gathering.

Listeners, there are plenty of places to sit, listen and enjoy as you take in the view of the flowing Grand River. Stroll through Old Town visiting the specialty boutique shops before during and after the festivities.

Hungry or thirsty? Order tasty food to go from the many restaurants to bring back to your desired spot to pull up a chair or blanket so you do not miss a beat.
